About House Copper:

House Copper is a family owned and operated cookware manufacturer located in Wisconsin. Copper cookware production in America had all but disappeared until a few short years ago. In 2015, owner Sara Dahmen founded the House Copper to bring the craft back to life, believing that everyone should have one solid pot or kettle in their kitchen that will not only perform well but also last for generations.

Copper cookware does just that… especially if it’s made purely. Pure copper. Pure iron. Pure tin. Nothing else, just the plain, pure metal and you. It’s safe, it’s healthy, it’s green and it’s natural.

House Copper only uses materials from America and fabricates 80% of the copper cookware in-house. The copper itself comes from Houston and is spun in Ohio, by family owned and operated companies. The handles are poured in Lodi, California, also by a family owned and operated foundry. The rest is handled by Sara in Wisconsin. She drills, rivets, hand-tins, buffs and polishes each piece.  Each piece of kitchenware is based on original vintage pieces first made by American coppersmiths and artisans.

Returns:
This item can be returned within 10 days of the date of delivery. Please note, we will only accept returns for items in their original condition: new, unused, unwashed, and undamaged in its original packaging with tags still attached. For more information on returns, please read our Return Policy.

Cleaning:

Caring for your pure copper cookware the right way is critical to keeping your kitchenware looking as beautiful as the day you purchased it. To ensure your copper pieces stay robust and in proper shape, please follow these care instructions:

• Use parchment paper to extend the tin’s life
• Always use a wooden spoon or soft silicon utensils
• Avoid using metal cooking utensils
• Do not use in broiler
• Do not heat empty – always have food or liquid already in the pan
• Do not heat over 400°F as it will start to melt the tin interior
• Do not use steel wool, scouring pads or harsh soaps
• Allow your copper to cool before washing it
• Hand wash only and dry immediately with a soft cloth

Polishing:

These copper and tin products (as with the pots and pans of old), will develop a lovely patina with use and time. Here are a few ways to keep your copper looking shiny and new:

• Use a 2-1 ratio of lemon and salt and gently polish - you may also add 1 part vinegar to the mixture for additional shine. Rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
• Ketchup works great on newly oxidized fingerprints. Rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
• If you use a commercial copper polish, it should not be used on the tin interior lining
• For pots and skillets, wipe a thin coat of organic flaxseed oil on the iron handle when the pan is warm (immediately after washing) to keep them from rusting over the course of time.
